Secure your windows and protect your children with Access Windows & Door Repair
Each year in Australia, approximately 50 children fall from open windows causing serious injury and death. Keeping your children safe from potential injury is important which has lead the NSW Government to pass new safety laws making safety devices mandatory for all 2nd Story (and above) windows.
What does it mean?
From 13 March 2018, it will be mandatory to ensure all 2nd Story (and above) windows in properties have safety devices attached to them. The devices must be properly installed, be child proof and restrict window openings to a maximum of 12.5cm. Of course, you can still fully open your windows as some restrictors are detachable. Window restrictors provide an extra barrier of protection for your children.
At Access Windows & Door Repair we can provide you with professionally installed safety devices to all windows to ensure that you comply with the new laws.
What devices can you install?
- Window locks
- Window restrictors (restricts to a maximum of 12.5cm opening)
- Window guards (covers the opening with bars)
